Our Ongoing Service Projects

As our motto states "friends, fibers and fun" we are all about community and friendships.

As part of building our community we offer opportunities for you to do service projects as well as working through your own stash for a good cause.

Here are a few of our projects and groups we support all year long.

Project Linus Workshops - next workshop is Saturday, 9am - 4pm, August 24th, 2019.

To learn more about how Project Linus works in our community visit their Facebook page or the national page.

O Christmas Tree - Starting in June, help us build our seasonal tree to decorate the shop in November, then in December we'll donate all pieces to several local senior centers.

You can crochet or knit dishcloths approximately 8-9" square or round. You can also make scrubbie balls as well. For every piece you donate, you will be entered into a drawing. We will pre-packaged yarn for taking, if you need it. We are challenging the community to personally make one a month until November.

If you need help with creating or even learning to crochet or knit, join us during one of our weekly Sit & Stitches - Tuesday evenings 5:30p-8p, Wednesday and Thursday mornings 10a-noon.

For 2019, the tree will go up in the shop November 16th and be on display through December 14th. Deliveries of finished pieces will be before Christmas.

Little Hats Big Hearts - Starting in September, we start creating little red hats for local hospitals to bring heart awareness during Heart Month, February. In conjunction with American Heart Association, you can learn all the details as well as free patterns to creating these works of love on the American Heart Association page.

You can knit or crochet hats, just remember cotton or acrylic red yarns only. We will offer yarn to use to make these hats.
